Employer Checklist: Required Information

To sign your company up with Smart Pension for auto enrolment, you will need the following information:

  • Company / Business name
  • Contact details for the director or business owner

Items needed to make your first payment:

  • Number of employees (and, if your company has 30 employees or fewer, your PAYE reference) or your staging date if you know it (you can find out your staging date here)
  • Director identification documents (preferably a UK driving licence or a UK passport)
  • Company bank account details
  • List of employees and their key information
  • Planned employee groups and company contributions

Educational documents for employees about auto enrolment - we can generate these for you:

  • Letters to employees - we will automatically generate these for you
  • Adding and removing staff as they join or leave your company
  • Continuing to assess your staff in case their circumstances (age and pay in particular) change meaning they should now be included in your pension scheme
  • Once you have auto enrolled the appropriate employees in the company, you must submit a declaration of compliance to The Pensions Regulator
