Smart Pension picks up three awards in one night

The industry awards recognises the work of firms operating at a high level in the payroll, HR, pension and employee benefits sectors

Workplace pension provider Smart Pension has picked up three industry awards that recognise the work of firms operating at a high level in the payroll, HR, pension and employee benefits sectors.

The auto enrolment platform was named Best Business, Workplace Pension Provider - and CEO Andrew Evans was selected to receive the top accolade - The Rewards 100 Individual Award for services to the industry at The Rewards, run by industry publication Payroll World.

Andrew's outstanding contribution was recognised by independent judges from a list of 100 industry innovators.

The Best Business Award was category designed to recognise firms with excellent results, fast-growth, high customer satisfaction, top customer support, cost benefits to clients and innovation, while Smart Pension also finished top in the Workplace Pension Provider category ahead of respected provider Aviva.

Smart Pension co-founder and CEO Andrew Evans, said: "This is an outstanding set of awards after an outstanding two-and-a-half years in business."

"We set out from the beginning to build world-leading digital systems capable of making auto enrolment work seamlessly for businesses, while transforming the way the established pension industry works.

"By digitising pensions, we endeavoured to make auto enrolment affordable and accessible to SMEs, working in tandem with their own accounting and payroll software. As a consequence, we are seeing a new business enrol their staff in a pension every seven minutes.

"We're delighted to have our hard work recognised in these respected industry awards."

The awards add to the two digital awards the firm collected in June, when it was named Fintech Innovation of the Year and overall winner in the Digital Leaders 100 awards.

Independent judges at The Rewards included industry heavy weight Henry Tapper, Adele Hauxwell, payroll manager at Kuehne Nagel UK, Liz Robins, Managing partner at AS Robins and Chris Watt, business leader payroll at PWC.

Last year Smart Pension secured investment from Europe's largest institutional asset managers, Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM).

Smart Pension is one of the few top tier providers listed by The Pensions Regulator on its site.
